With Nina’s farming background the heart to the Grove’s menu, it is important to us to offer a wide selection of locally sourced products direct from the producer, which we create into varied dishes with the ethos of something for everyone no matter what the occasion.

But who is Sue Craig I hear you all ask?
Sue heads our kitchen team with passion and pride, producing the best home cooked food (rivaling anyone I know, including my own mother's!) for miles. Quite literally........
A bit about this inspiring lady.... Sue moved to Melbury Abbas, Shaftesbury in the 90's whilst raising 3 beautiful children, all of whom remain locally to her today - a credit to her in itself. As Sue's children grew older it was time for Sue to pave a career for herself and turn a passion for home cooking into an income to support the growing brood.
Sue decided to return to work at a local tearooms, it started as a small project but with their great management and Sue's talent for home cooking it wasn't long before it turned into a lucrative spot and a place Sue enjoyed working for 4 great years. Sue however after this felt she needed a challenge and found within herself that change was on the horizon so off she went to Port Regis to assist as part of the kitchen team producing fantastic food including lunches, functions and afternoon teas when required..... a busier role that activated Sue's brain and thoughts of where her cooking could take her.
The unthinkable was however just around the corner for Sue who had to move away to look after her mum - this meant leaving her much loved career which was once again put on hold, ironically by the person who taught her all her cookery skills she uses today.....the ability to cook a phenomenal pie and produce gravy spoken about for miles around. This food, with our atmosphere allows all who visit The Grove the chance to make special memories with loved ones around the table - this is where Sue's passion began and is at the heart of every dish she serves.

Sue joined the family at The Grove in February 2016 - this move signaled a time for Sue at 55 years old to achieve success in her own right doing what she loves best, cooking her home cooked food.
17 months on Sue is driven by the positive feedback we receive daily on her creations, and how she takes the most simple dishes but executes them with love creating flavoursome food for all. The menu at The Grove is based on great produce, sourced locally and made into simple yet delicious home cooked favourites seen in the main menu and flare on the specials board using items sourced daily in relation to what our suppliers can source.
Sue will be with us for many years up to retirement - so why not join the family for a food experience to remember..........
